2012 Super Bowl Details for Start Time and Halftime Show in Indianapolis

Start time for Super Bowl 2012 and Halftime details for NFL game taking place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Start time for the 2012 Super Bowl is a big search on the internet as all the hype surrounds the biggest sporting event on television. Listed here are kick-off Super Bowl times in various time zones throughout the United States. Madonna will be the headlining performer for the Halftime show.

According to CBSSports.com, the Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis will start on Sunday, February 5th at 6:30 p.m., Easter Time on the NBC network. Central time kick-off time for the NFL game is 5:30 p.m with Mountain time at 4:30 p.m., and Pacific at 3:30 p.m.

For the Super Bowl halftime show 2012, Madonna, 53, will take over the stage at Lucas Oil Stadium for what is expected to be a spectacular show. Madonna will have an estimated 162 million TV viewers as her captive audience for a 12-minute performance packed with backup dancers. Auditions for athletic male dancers to join the Material Girl singer live have been underway for the halftime event. It will take eight minutes to set the stage up for Madonna before she kicks off the biggest concert she will ever give.

NBC has sold out all advertising slots for the 2012 Super Bowl for an amount of $3.5 million on average for each commercial spot. Advertisers such as GoDaddy, Doritos, Pepsi, Budweiser, Chevy, and E-Trade will entertain viewers in between breaks. Even if people do not like watching the Super Bowl game itself, it is hard for some to ignore the commercials that are as exciting to watch as the competition.

Lucas Oil Stadium seats 63,000 spectators, but by the time the 2012 Super Bowl starts, it will accommodate more than 70,000 fans. It cost approximately $720 million to create in 2008. It consists of a retractable roof and a large window at one end of the football field.

Super Bowl games are an excellent source of revenue for cities hosting the annual event. Hotels are booked full, restaurants are reserved, and party venues are busier than they have ever been. Residents and businesses also charge hefty parking fees for available spaces and extra workers are hired to provide security.

Oddsmakers in Las Vegas have made predictions on who will play in 2012. The popular bet is on the Baltimore Ravens as being one of the teams to beat.

By the time the Super Bowl 2012 kicks off and the halftime show starts, a large amount of effort has been put into hosting the year's most viewed sporting event.
